Support Art! Restore the Gulf!
Introducing “From the Deepwater Horizon Gift Shop” by Meghan Quinn
On April 20th, 2010, an explosion occurred on the Deepwater Horizon oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico. Since the rig sank, crude oil gushed into the ocean at an alarming rate with every two days equaling the amount that was spilled by Exxon Valdez in 1989. This is the worst spill to happen in our nation’s history.
There are many organizations hard at work cleaning up the mess that has been caused by the leak. This cleanup will continue for months, probably years. They will need help to continue their efforts long after BP contracts expire.
“From the Deepwater Horizon Gift Shop” is an innocent reminder of something we can never let happen again. They may just be toys, but they represent the real cost of this disaster. 50% of all sales will be split between an organization that is helping affected wildlife and Oxfam America who is helping the affected communities in the region.
The prints are currently available at $60 for 8”x10” and $200 for 16”x20”. All are available through Etsy.com at http://www.etsy.com/shop/MeghanQuinnphoto
The Etsy shop will be up through the summer of 2010. All prints are signed and numbered and sent Priority USPS. Please allow up to two weeks for delivery.
